Lessons from Photography
Lessons from Photography
Throughout my 7 years of pursuit in photography, I realized that I’ve learnt so much more about the medium for the past 1 year than the previous 6. This shot which was taken just last month in Malacca taught me the art of patience, communication and connection. I forgot how this uncle and I started a conversation but what I remembered was that we had an interesting chat about his work and profession as a goldsmith.
This picture immediately brings back memories of the short relationship I had with him between a visitor and a local countryman. This picture reminds me of his smile, jokes and hospitality. I began to realize how powerful a photo can bring to impact me. Hopefully I can take a photo that impacts the people around me and society.
Till that day comes, I’ll just keep shooting.
“I do believe strongly in photography and hope by following it intuitively that when the photographs are looked at they will touch the spirit in people.” - Harry Callahan
